WiserTogether names Dr. Jim Herndon M.D. as Chief Medical Officer
Washington, D.C. – April 26, 2012 – WiserTogether, Inc., a pioneer in web- and mobile-based patient decision support solutions announced today that Dr. James Herndon has been appointed WiserTogether’s Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Herndon is a leading surgeon, educator and researcher in the field of Orthopedics. He is the William H. and Johanna A. Harris Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School and is a practicing physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and Partners Healthcare in Boston. Dr. Herndon has published more than 200 peer reviewed journal articles, 5 books and 30 book chapters and is a frequent speaker at leading medical conferences around the world.

Dr. Herndon’s experience and medical career spans over four decades. Receiving his MD from UCLA and completing his orthopedic residency at Children’s Hospital and Mass General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Herndon then served as a Major in the US Army and was the Chief of the Amputee Service at Valley Forge General Hospital in Pennsylvania. He then went on to complete a fellowship in reconstructive hand surgery at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City.
Dr. Herndon has the unique distinction of having served as President of all major Orthopedic Societies: American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, and the American Orthopedic Association. He has also served as the chairman of the Residency Review Committee for Orthopedic Surgery.
